For the last week I have found myself unable to concentrate at work at all.
I've been trapped in Maelstrom mode and have probably spent more time writing IC stuff than I have spent working.
I've written 4.5 IC letters (yes one remains unfinished...) and finally finished of my character background after nearly a year of playing Calero.
This is not entirely a good thing as it means I now have 2 full weeks plus change to complete 11 payrolls to roughly 800 people.

Still, as of an hour or so ago, I think I've finally written myself and the others involved in the writing to a point where I'm going to be able to concentrate on the real world for a little while...
Damn, I have NEVER gotten so into a character before. Not even as Paradox nor as Loran.

Yule Haul

Well, I remain quite shocked about the amount of gifts receieved this year.
My parent shad warned us not to go overboard on spending this year, and what does my mother go and do...?
The following is the full list of everything gained by both Ninfa and myself, and includes our gifts to each other. You can probably guess whose is whose...
Admittedly we did go overboard on each other perhaps, mostly as this is the last year we will have the chance to spoil each other.

Mamma Mia
Enchanted
Sweeney Todd
Hancock
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
The Other Boleyn Girl BBC version
The Little Mermaid
Sex and the city movie

Dead Set
Life on Mars double box set
Blues Brothers

Pink - Funhouse
Now 71
Grosse Pointe Blank OST
Scissor Sisters - Ta-Dah
Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters
Abba - Gold

Plus the usual unsubtle humour about physical cleanliness from my sister.

A lot of my gifts received were a very pleasant surprise, as they were not from any list I'd made. Ninfa had remembered statements from me during the year and had put thought into what she bought me.
That to me is better than any gift. A little thought to try and make things special rather than the sterilised Christmas that we seem to be getting to in the UK these days...
This occurred a few minutes ago, while Ninfa and I are watching the Holiday.

Me: "Who the hell is James Franco anyways. Never heard of him."
Ninfa: "Oh. He was in Spiderman."
Me: "Really?"
Ninfa: "Yeah. He played the son of the Green... lantern...no, Goblin!"
*laughing*
Me: "Oh that's special hon. Not only did you mix a bad goblin with a good lantern, but you managed to completely mix the publishing houses up to!!!"

Your result for How good of a Calvinball player are you?...

Your grade is... B: Great skills but little knowledge

26% Game_Knowledge and 73% Game_Skill!

Amazing. You are part of the 3.7% of the population that landed in this category.* Despite not knowing very much about the game, you did very well when it came to playing Calvinball strategically.

This suggests that you might have a natural talent in Calvinball. You have now learned that the trick to doing well in Calvinball is not brute strength, but quick wit. With your natural ability you could go far.

Still, in order to be successful you must learn the lack of rules to the game. You are probably already talented enough to beat Calvin, but it will take some more work before you could defeat the quick-witted Hobbes.

* This is a made up number.

There really is no point to being in the office today.
I disconnected all our computers on Friday. The desks are being disassembled now and we cannot get back to work until reassembled and reconnected in the new office.
suggests two days of doing nothing to me.

Your Score: The Thelemite

You scored 40 Materialism and 100 Phenomenology!

"For there are no Gods but Man"-Aleister Crowley

That sure doesn't stop you from communing with them. You are the Thelemite, committed to the Western occult tradition of Spare, the Golden Dawn, Crowley etc. Though you lead a life of elaborate ritual, you realize that truth and falsehood in this ritual are irrelevant distinctions: the only thing that matters is what works.

Now if you just loosen up a bit, you could cross the Chasm of Choronzon.

Thinkers you may agree with: Osman Spare, Aleister Crowley, Robert Anton Wilson
Thinkers that may challenge you: Phil Hine, Peter Carroll

You'll die in a Car Accident.

You are very sociable, talking on your cell when you should be paying attention to the road. Sadly, cell phones will claim yet another life...

I'm in a bit of a pickle. Could use your advise as in what would you do kinda situation.

I'm unable to be called as I'm in work right now.

So. You know my work situation. I'm in a temp contract that might go perm as long as I don't screw it up.
This is paying 16K but as I am working extra hours then I am getting 17K, and is based in Sale, which is not to bad a run, juts a little messy in the stockport area.

An agency have juts come back to me with news of a perm job I second interviewed for the other night.
They say it is very good news which suggests that they want me.
JOb was touted as minimum 20000. Also it's a supervisor's job, which is a step up on what I've been doing for a while.
I've juts found out that because I've not got direct supervisory experience they're offereing 19K
The flaw being that they are in Leyland near Preston, so It's a hour run each way each day.
I can do this. I've done sillier things in the past.

Ways I figure it it should leave me with over 650 per month to play with.
PLus they are willing to put me through the IPP qualifications, so that should cause a pay rise PDQ.

What would you do?
I've been caught playing for the best deal before and lost...
