Dear LRP community
Please cease with the wild speculations about the upcoming new game for which you have the sum total of one flyer and one teaser webpage of information on.

Here is a summary of the information you have:
There was an Empire.
It had a Queen as head, so technically a Monarchy, but that never stopped Queen Victoria.
The Queen is dead.
The Empire is broken.
You still exist.

There is no information about period setting, races, skills, advantages etc nor the background beyond that stated above.
There have been empires since the dawn of time up until late 19th century (and later if you believe evil dictators and Bond villains)

Wildly speculating on things you do not have enough information to back a solid basis on could be damaging to the game.
Remember 8 years ago when the pregame froth was going on about Maelstrom? How many people have you heard over the years saying that the froth then and now put them off playing the game? I personally have heard it far too often.

By all means look forward to it, and possibly suggest what you would like to shine through from Maelstrom to Empire, but please stop saying "it's going to be in *this* period" or "it's going to be human only" and other things similar.
You do not have that information.
The only people who have that information are the writers and they will not be telling you because you are not a special snowflake and therefore must wait until the information is released to everyone.

To quote a conversation about this on IRC about how much information there is about Empire:

The most impressively specific speculation I've seen so far on Empire was someone on Rule7 hoping to do "a hardcore Tolkien esk german level of kit orc group" - I've no doubt they'll find a system where they can, but I also don't know where they're getting that idea from the A5 flyer.

E2A - and the next person to say "german level of kit" gets me kicking their head in while dressed in my "english level of kit" while we show them photos of the less than good kit at some german events and ask them when the UK govt will give them 120k to run an event...

Relax, people just got shown a new shiny, of course they're trying to figure out what it does. How many times have we wasted endless hours in speculation over something that turned out to be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from what we planned? ;)

Okay, so I only read the first page or two on R7 but it seems to be mostly tongue-in-cheek to me of the sort where an event froth thread would start a day or two the event congratulating PD on their awesome flying monkey kit.

I assume that some people started taking the flying monkey "information" seriously and started objecting?

Flyers went out at the event and there is a teeny-tiiny blurb on the website. A discussion thread was started on R7 by a player.

The event flyer detail on Empire is what is on the website. The "end of maelstrom" piece is not on the website yet, but you have all the new events details publically avalable already :)

It will be more findable in due course. It had to remain hidden until the crew had been told that Maelstrom was ending on site, which a lot of them did not know...

The group who have been working on Empire has actually been a very small working party.
